“Tail and Story”: Sabina and the New Vienna Library set up a summer reading program

The theme of summer 2021 reading for Sabina Public Library and the new Vienna branch is “tail and story”.
Various animals roam the land and fly in the air. Many animals have tails and stories. Explore the life world around you and find out the special features of the many animals that live with us on our little blue planet.
Registration will open on May 18th and will last until July. The program is open to people of all ages-adults, teenagers and children.
When children or teenagers register, they will receive a registration bag for the Summer Reading Program. This bag contains a reading sheet, stickers, a bookmark, a notepad, a pencil, some puzzle activity sheets and an animal motif bracelet. Starting on May 31, the library will provide a new animal-themed handicraft for children every week.
Starting in June, children and young people can participate in the library treasure hunt to understand the location of objects in the library. Young participants who complete the hunt will receive a small amount of prizes, while stocks last.
The library is happy to introduce a new project for our program this summer: the reading reward necklace. The beaded chain and the first bragging label will be given during the registration process. When designing a unique necklace, keep reading to earn beads and exaggerated labels.
Encourage adults to also participate in activities based on summer reading themes. Submit a photo of your pet this summer as one of our two contest categories: cutest pet or funniest pet. The competition will be held from May 24 to July 24, and the competition is subject to the last week of July.
Submit the photo to the director via pdunn@sabinalibrary.com or send it via private message on our Facebook page. The photos may be hung in the library building or displayed online. Please provide your name, phone number and pet’s name every time you submit. Every time adults check out materials at the Sabina or New Vienna libraries in June and July, they also have the opportunity to guess how many animals are in the jars on our circulation counter. The adult with the closest age without counting the total will win the prize.
Please follow our library Facebook page for trivia about animal topics, craft ideas, book suggestions, videos and more information this summer.
