Introducing Fuli Gems, a company dedicated to changing the jewelry industry

Forget what you know about peridot. An emerging mining company Fuli Gemstones is preparing to reintroduce the world into olivine and transform it into a well-known gemstone that can be carved. Its recently opened mine is located in Changbai Mountain, China, which is the largest known olivine deposit in the world. Chief Marketing Officer Pia Tonna told me that when she first visited the mine, she was shocked by what she saw. “I entered the entrance of the tunnel. There are these rich, juicy, green glowing peridot on the wall. It’s crazy.”
Olivine on the market today may be inconsistent. Many people think it is yellow-green or not large in size. However, the mine will have a large and stable supply of large-carat high-quality olivines that are radioactive green. After visiting the mine, Tonna brought some stones back to Europe to show the experts and jewelers that everyone was so amazed by the green color of the stones. She called them “bright green” and “juicy”. Indeed, the gem is this intense candy apple green, almost like the color of Jolly Rancher’s candy. Another thing Tana likes about peridot is its brilliance. Olivine has a high degree of refraction, almost twice. Therefore, if you cut it correctly, you will get an incredible flame, because when light hits the stone and then shoots out, all the facets will reflect each other,” she said.
Fuli Gemstones estimates that 10% will be large stones, which can be used to make exquisite jewelry sets, and these stones are likely to be sold out by high jewelry stores in Paris. There will be a lot of gems of 2 to 5 carats to store fine jewelry, and the rest will be small stones to store cheaper jewelry. The beauty of olivine is that it is available at every price point, and consumers can have real gems, not just colored crystals. Tonna presents peridot to the most prestigious jewelry companies and uses peridot to empower young designers. Since the price per carat of peridot is more affordable than many other well-known diamonds, this is a simpler price point. Fuli Gemstones collaborates with young designers in jewellery collaborations and supports The Jewelery Cut Live, a boutique jewellery exhibition held during London Fashion Week. The first designers to collaborate with Fuli Gems were London jewelers Liv Luttrell and Zeemou Zeng. Everyone designs a ring, but they are completely different and reflect their design aesthetics. Liv Luttrell’s Spear Tip ring is architectural and sculptural, with 3.95 carats of gold inlaid with peridot, while Zeemou Zeng uses peridot beads in its Melody ring, which rolls back and forth with white gold and diamond inlays.

Ethics is very important to many consumers today, and it is also very important to Wealthy Gems. The company is subverting the traditional gem supply system, putting traceability and transparency at the top of its work. It can mine, classify, process, cut and polish gems, so the final gem is always under its control. It is currently working with the “Dragonfly Project”, which will make independent recommendations to them on traceability. Fuli Gems also ensures that the mining process itself is as environmentally friendly as possible. The olivine sand produced by mining can be reused and is looking for ways to use it, including helping local acidify the ocean. Donna said: “I was contacted by a company working in the environmental field and they wanted to investigate ways to reuse waste to deacidify coral reefs. What I mean is that all targets are readjusted. Dreams. So we got amazing gems for jewelry, but the waste went to a good place… We have a very simple idea, which is a combination of natural innovation and positive change. We want people to know that gems are completely natural We have innovated in cutting and the way people perceive peridot. We want it to become a new look and a way out for young jewelry designers. Moreover, we want to evoke positive change.”
