Huda Beauty’s Mercury Retrograde palette released before the astrological event

When Huda Kattan developed the latest eyeshadow palette, she faced one difficulty after another, customizing the formula of each shade to ensure maximum pigmentation, creaminess and staying power. Some colors are more picky than others, dry or dull. The ingredients are repeatedly arranged and mixed together in new ways until Kattan is finally satisfied with the formula.
Once the shades and textures are determined, Kattan realizes that the palette is nameless. “One of my team members was explaining how difficult the creation process was, and jokingly said: “It’s like Mercury has been retrograde,” Catan recalled, “That was a moment, and since then, we call it Mercury is retrograde”. It turns out that we are actually in Mercury retrograde, so it’s like the stars are aligned.”
Huda Beauty Mercury retrograde made its debut on October 24, just a few days before Mercury actually went retrograde from October 31 to November 20. During this time, the planet of communication began to spin backwards, making travel, interpersonal and technical misfortunes worse. In the Mercury Retrograde Palette, the shade names Frazzled (metallic bronze with green glitter), Off Balance (matte rose), Hot Mess (matte raspberry) and Crash (matte taupe) reflect this. However, Kattan wants to make sure that this is a period of positive personal exploration.
Kattan reminded me when she asked her about the inspiration behind the palette: “Mercury retrograde has a very challenging reputation, but it can also be a period of true transformation, encouraging self-expression and giving us inner talent.” “That’s why we created a super cool color palette to help you express your creativity and killing power during retrograde.”
The 18 dreamy colors on the palette draw inspiration from Kattan’s current obsession: rhinestones (or “Crystal AB” as she calls). Pink, blue, and purple are a tribute to the way the rhinestone changes color according to the light exposure. She added: “You will also notice many multi-reflective and glass-like glitter powders, which further bring amazing crystal luster, sparkle and radiance to life.”
One of my favorite shades in the palette is a very shiny peacock blue called Mercury. Kattan pointed out that because blue pigment is naturally drying, it is one of the most difficult to make in the palette. She explained: “It’s difficult for us to create a texture that is both creamy and creamy, while also having the pigment punch we have always promised in the palette.” “Achieving this balance is really difficult, and we It took a long time to figure it out.” Well, she did it. If you dip your fingertips into Mercury, it will seamlessly apply thick, fascinating pigmentation.
Kattan likes the matte orchid pink called Libra-”not only because it is my zodiac sign, but because I foresee this color will be a huge bet in 2020,” she admitted. “Shades like this, mint green and pistachio will become popular.” Mint green also occupies the palette in the haze.
When I opened the “Mercury Retrograde” palette for the first time, I was at a loss for this possibility. The combination of the approachable neutral man and the dazzling black body reminds me that Mercury is already retrograde. I want to make 28 different looks at the same time, but I don’t know which one to start with. Of course, I can apply a paint on the lid because every shade is good. However, I am determined to use my mixing skills.
The first look I created was the red autumn inspiration moment. Utopia (peach) is the basis of Supermoon (foil-like copper red), and I focus on the outer corner of the eye. Next, I used Vortex (fired brown) on the eyeliner brush to define the same area. Then, I used Cosmic (metal petal pink) to highlight the inner corners of the eyes.
At the second glance, my best friend told me to use them all, so I blended as many shades as possible on the lid of the box (keep in mind Joe Beck’s technique). Only haze, utopia, supernova, Fra fault, nebula, imbalance and ultraviolet light can be advanced. Before opening the palette, make sure to cover my eyelids with VDL Expert Color Primer For Eyes and spray them with MAC x Pony Park Prime + Prep Fix + to lock in the look. Some matte shadows disappeared midway some day, though.
Kattan also told me about “one of the simplest and most beautiful blue eye looks” that you can also create using the palette. First, cover the entire lid with a combination of Nebula (glistening lavender) and Mercury. Next, photograph the nebula to the inner corner of the eye to brighten it. Then, apply Supermoon (super light pink) around the tear duct to make the eyes wider. She added: “Try it and you won’t go wrong.” “It’s amazing.”
