The art of beading

Today I would like to introduce an artist that I particularly like: the beaded art work of old lady Lucia Antonelli. She not only does beading, but strictly speaking, she is an artist and a university teacher. She usually paints oil paintings, and her works are relatively abstract. The landscape sketches, carefully sampled, all have a retro flavor in them.

Her beading works are all in European retro style, with a strong sense of mystery and a strong sense of nationality. Through the orderly arrangement of designs, they are full of personality, and it is difficult to imitate and make exactly the same works.

She generally uses 2~3mm millet beads with different main stone beads. The millet beads are mostly Japanese and Czech beads, and the rice beads are mostly retro metallic, frosted, and cut corner beads. The changes are rich, and the color matching is harmonious and natural.

Among them, Japanese rice beads are world-renowned and are the most respected by handicraft enthusiasts. There are mainly two brands of Japanese millet beads, miyuki and toho. Uniform, suitable for designing some high-end artworks.

Glass beads from MIYUKI Japan are known as the small bead quality standard for their deep brilliance, splendor and high quality. The most well-known of these is the large, well-proportioned antique bead (Delica bead): small tubular beads with thin walls and large holes through which the thread can be passed multiple times. Antique beads are often used for weaving flat patterns and are generally available in the following sizes. Miyuki Antique Beads DIY from Japan, Miyuki’s antique beads have a bumpy three-dimensional sense, which can be shining light or textured frosted, good at expressing exquisite patterns and abstract emotions. Each millet-sized bead is full of gorgeous, rich layers. It is generally used to weave beads, either by hand or with a knitting machine, using a specific stitch to weave beads into various shapes.
